8/11/2023 0 Comments Log flume water ride cedar point![]() And, I'm faaaaaaarrrrr from being an angel. I was just pointing out possibilities and trying to support CP. You should be happy that they are getting a new ride. Mill Race was added to Cedar Point during a time when the park was adding more spectacular rides to its line up. Also, there are kids who read this forum (you may be one if so, you shouldn't be using that kind of language). Mill Race was a log flume that was at Cedar Point. I am not afraid to say it, but I try not to. But I'm considered an evil person on this forum and you're an angel. ![]() I am not afraid to say it like you, and I'm NOT a brat. You're should too, starting to call me a *****. I figured by the time I got my original post edited, there would've been like five more, so it would've been looked over.Īnd, yes, it is possible to not be impressed with something, but still thinks it will be fun or looks great. I didn't see anything he wrote that should get him reported.Īlso, 85 feet is large for a water ride (I don't believe KI has one that tall), and 49 feet is a decent size drop.Įdit: Sorry for the double post. You have a thing of liking to report people's posts if they disagree with you. Then, you count in all of the fake rock and other themeing, that gets expensive. Both concrete and steel is VERY expensive, and there will be a lot of both used for this ride. The entire bottom is concrete, which is VERY thick. You would be amazed at the cost a water ride would cost. I fully believe the ride cost $10 million. That is absolute rubbish, there is no way all of that could be worth 10M dollars and you know it too. $10 million because of all of the concrete work that will be done, two lifts, the boats would be more expensive then the trains (maybe?), all of the rock themeing (which is VERY expensive), etc. What complete and utter crap such a nice park would give us after building tension over a year. Someone alert Tony on pointbuzz that CP is officially losing it's mind. ![]() All this hype for THAT? If I want a family park I can't go to Holiday World. I wanted a roller coaster and I got a dumb log flume. Mill Race had been selected as a top Cedar Point attraction in multiple years of the 1960s.How the heck is that 10 million? It looks like a lame water ride, with a dumb name. Many have described the ride as boring due to the slow speed of the boat in the flume. There’s been a lot of talk this season if you would consider Shoot the Rapids at Cedar Point a log flume or not and whether or not it is a worthy replacement for White Water Landing. Mill Race had a simple layout, only having a single lift hill of 28 feet (8.5 m) in height. Wilderness Adventure Log Ride at Ontario Place. In the year following Mill Race's removal and Raptor's installation, Cedar Point admissions went from hundreds of thousands of visitor admissions to over two million visitor admissions in a single season. ![]() Snake River Falls, a third flume, opened in Mill Race's last year of operation. At 50 feet (15 m) in height, White Water Landing dwarfed the 28 feet (8.5 m) tall Mill Race. A second log flume ride, White Water Landing, had also been built at Cedar Point in 1982. The number of Cedar Point visitors rose following the installation of Mill Race.Īlthough Mill Race was popular, the log flume was ultimately removed in 1993 to prepare for the addition of the inverted steel roller coaster Raptor. ![]() Mill Race opened near the entrance of the park on the main midway and it proved to be one of the most popular rides in the entire park. In 1963, when Mill Race opened, Cedar Point had no operating roller coasters besides smaller wild mouse style roller coasters. Costing approximately $300,000, Mill Race opened during a period of transition at Cedar Point. Wilderness Adventure Log Ride at Ontario Place. ![]()
